About Me: Aaron Alon has received numerous national and international awards and had his works performed throughout the US, as well as in China, Brazil, and Slovakia. His art song, “Spring and Fall,” was included on a CD released by the National Association of Composers, and his solo oboe piece, “Córdoba, was released on CD by Wild Basin Winds (Ian Davidson performing). His solo flute piece, "Hibakusha" was recently published as part of the Society of Composers, Inc. Journal of Music Scores and will soon be released by Capstone Records (Catherine Branch performing). Alon is also highly active as a teacher and currently teaches for Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music and the American Festival for the Arts. Current projects include a new musical with lyricist Joe Barnes, a new opera with librettist Michael Remson, and a new work for orchestra.
